New resources to help communities plan and build natural infrastructure solutions are now available on the Climate Insight Platform.
The newly released extended fact sheets, developed by Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada (HICC) in collaboration with partners across Canada, highlight natural infrastructure solutions, like urban forests, constructed wetlands, green roofs, and living shorelines.
Each fact sheet includes key concepts, design considerations, case studies, and strategies for overcoming barriers to implementation.
By integrating natural infrastructure into community planning, we can build climate resilience, create more vibrant public spaces, and protect the ecosystems we rely on, often at a lower cost than conventional infrastructure.
